Michael Jendrzejczyk

53

Dear Friend:

We are saddened with the sudden death of Mike Jendrzejczyk, an ICAS Friend. Mike died this morning after collapsing during a walk near his office in Washington D C, according to his wife, Janet.

Mike, a devoted human rights advocate, was Executive Director of the Washington office of Human Rights Watch. He was born and grew up in New Britain, Conn and his contribution to advancing human rights issues in Washington environment was exemplary, in particular for those dissidents of Asian origins. Harold Hongju Koh, a Yale law professor and a former assistant secretary of state for human rights said Mike "was one of those happy warriors who never let you forget that you are holding a job not for personal gain but for the betterment of American policy."

Mike will be missed.

Sincerely,

Sang Joo Kim / signed
