ICAS Youth Excellence Fellowship Awards

Dear Friend:

We are pleased to share with you that ICAS has established the ICAS Youth Excellence Fellowship Awards for Excellence and that the Awards have been endowed in the name of Hon Shinae Chun, Hon Becky N. Dunlop, Professor Lawrence R. Klein and Hon Jerome J Shestack respectively.

These Awards will recognize those youngsters who demonstrate achievements with high distinction in academic performance, community service, leadership roles, public affairs and volunteering and be presented with prize money at the annual "ICAS Summer Symposium: The Korean Diaspora". This year's occasion will take place on August 6, 2005 in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.

Ms Chun is currently Director of Women's Bureau of the United States Department of Labor. She emigrated to the United States in 1965 and was keynote speaker at the ICAS Summer Symposium: The Korean Dispora 2001. Ms Dunlop presently serves Vice President of External Relations, The Heritage Foundation in Washington D C and is an ICAS Fellow and a recipient of ICAS Liberty Award. Professor Lawrence R Klein is a Nobel Laureate, Benjamin Franklin Professor of Economics Emeritus of the University of Pennsylvania and an ICAS Distinguished Fellow and a recipient of ICAS Liberty Award. Attorney Jerome J Shestack, an ICAS Distinguished Fellow and a recipient of ICAS Liberty Award, is currently Partner and Head of the Litigation Department of the Philadelphia law firm of Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis-Cohen and served as President of the American Bar Association during 1997-1998.
