Many Guests Attended ICAS Annual Liberty Award Dinner 2005

Dear Friend:

We are pleased to share with you that we hosted yesterday ICAS Annual Liberty Award Dinner 2005 in honour of Professor Britton Chance here in Philadelphia.

We wish to thank you very much for all your considerations and inputs which made the occasion possible. Many guests packed The William Penn Room and The Fairmont Room of The Sheraton University City Hotel Philadelphia. In addition, Professor Arthur H. Rubenstein, Dean of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine wrote us a nice note for the evening and Professor Lawrence R. Klein remarked and offered congratulations for the Guest of Honour.

Professor Chance, upon accepting the ICAS Annual Liberty Award 2005, delivered an ICAS Lecture of "Science and My Life" and his grand life story deeply touched the audience.

He, then, gently rode away on his bicycle into the cold and windy streets heading home to retire.

The guests at the headtable were:

Ronald T. Brown (Dean, Temple University College of Health Professions)
David B. Weiner (Associate Professor, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine)
Brian M. Salzberg (Professor, Neuroscience and Physiology, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine)
Lawrence R. Klein (ICAS Distinguished Fellow; Benjamin Franklin Professor Economics Emeritus, University of Pennsylvania; Nobel Laureate)
Sang Joo Kim (ICAS Senior Fellow & Executive Vice President)
Britton Chance (ICAS Annual Liberty Award recipient; Eldridge Reeves Johnson University Professor Emeritus of Biophysics, Physical Chemistry, and Radiologic Physics, University of Pennsylvania)
Djun Kil Kim(ICAS Fellow; Professor, Myong Ji University, Seoul, Korea)
A Hiro Nishikawa (President, Japanese American Citizens League Philadelphia Chapter)
