We are pleased to share with you that Grace Chung Becker has recently joined the Civil Rights Division as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General. Grace previously served as an Associate Deputy General Counsel at the Department of Defense. She also has worked as a federal prosecutor in the Criminal Division of the Justice Department; Assistant General Counsel at the United States Sentencing Commission; Counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee; and an associate at the law firm of Williams & Connolly. Earlier in her career, Grace clerked for Judge James L Buckley on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, and Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson on the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, and obtained her law degree, magna cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center.

Grace was a featured speaker at the "ICAS Summer Symposium 2002: The Korean Diaspora" and delivered an ICAS Lecture, "America My Country: Let's Be Part of It".
