Robert A Scalapino Award for Excellence
Endowed
Dear Friend:
We are pleased to share with
you that ICAS has established the endowed Robert A Scalapino Award for Excellence.
The Robert A Scalapino Award will recognize those young people who demonstrate achievements
with high distinction in varied areas including academic performance, community
service, leadership roles, public affairs and scholarly work and the Awardee will
receive a prize money and certificate as part of the ICAS Youth Excellence Fellowship
Award at an annual "ICAS Summer Symposium: The Korean Diaspora".
A purpose of The Robert A Scalapino Award is to help nurture, challenge and develop aspiring
young people to model after his stellar achievements in the pursuit of peace and prosperity,
thus honouring his lifetime legacy.
Professor Robert A Scalapino is ICAS
Distinguished Fellow and Robson Research Professor of Government Emeritus, University of California, Berkeley.
The Robert A Scalapino Award for Excellence will make the seventh endowed Award to the current
list of the ICAS
Youth Excellence Fellowship Award.
