We are pleased to share with you that Sheila Miyoshi Jager has been named ICAS Fellow, effective immediately.

Sheila is Professor of East Asian Studies at Oberlin College. Her books include Brothers at War: The Unending Conflict in Korea, Ruptured Histories: War, Memory and the Post Cold War in Asia (edited with Rana Mitter), and Narratives of Nationbuilding in Korea: The Genealogy of Patriotism. Sheila's current book projects are The Other Great Game: The Opening of Korea and the Birth of Modern East Asia, 1876-1905 (Harvard University Press, 2021) and, co-authored with her husband, Jiyul Kim, The Korean War: A New History (Cambridge University Press, 2022). She is author of articles and essays in both scholarly and popular publications, including the New York Times, Boston Globe, and Politico Magazine.
