Thomas J. Byrne
Biographic Sketch

Thomas J. Byrne is a Vice President and Senior Analyst in the Sovereign Risk Unit of Moody's Financial Institutions and Sovereign Risk Group in New York where he is primarily responsible for the ratings of the major East Asian economies, namely Japan, Korea and China as well as the Southeast Asian economies. Before joining Moody's in 1996, he was the Senior Economist of the Asia Department of the Institute of International Finance in Washington, D.C. He graduated from The Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies, where he studied international economics; before graduate studies, he served for three years as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in Korea.
