David Straub

David Straub, an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, D.C., is a former U.S. Senior Foreign Service Officer. In a 30-year diplomatic career focused on Northeast Asian affairs, he served as head of the political section of the U.S. embassy in Seoul (1999-2002) and as country director for Korean affairs at the State Department (2002-2004), when he played a key working-level role in the Six-Party Talks in Beijing. He also served as country director for Japanese affairs (2004-2006).
