Biographic Sketch

Nora Winkelman is a shareholder in the Philadelphia law firm of Buchanan Ingersoll Professional Corporation, concentrating her practice in the area of real estate conducting multi-million dollar transactions involving, inter alia, the sale and purchase of commercial and residential real estate and loans and loan syndications. Her representation includes banks and financial institutions as well as developers, investors, property managers, landlords and tenants. She is well versed in all aspect of residential and commercial real estate transactions, including the preparation and negotiation of agreements of sale, leases, financing documents (for both borrowers and lenders), and property management contracts; due diligence activities involving the review of title, leases, contracts and organizational documents; and the creation of condominium regimes. She is a past member of the Executive Committee of the Real Estate Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association and currently is co-chair of the Section's Committee on Financing and Securitization of Real Estate.

Nora grew up in a politically active household in Northeast Philadelphia, where her father was a Philadelphia City Councilman in the early 1960's. She became active in Montgomery County Democratic politics in the early 1990's when she became a Committee Person in Narberth. She has been chair of the Democratic Committee of Lower Merion and Narberth since 1997 and was elected in June of 2002 as First Vice Chair of the Democratic Committee of Montgomery County. She ran for Narberth Borough Council in 1995 and has been active in local political campaigns including the State Representative and State Senate campaigns of State Senator Connie Williams. In 2000, she chaired the successful re-election campaign of Congressman Joe Hoeffel and in 2001 she chaired the Barbara J. Holland for Judge campaign.

Nora is a 1983 graduate of LaSalle University and a 1986 graduate of Villanova University School of Law.
