We are pleased to share with
you the following brief summary of the select activities of
ICAS for the period of January 2000 through June 2000: |
| 2 / 11 : | ICAS hosted
"ICAS [Winter] Symposium: Asia's Challenges
Ahead". Twelve papers were presented. Ambassador Takekazu Kawamura of Japan
was the ICAS Dinner speaker. |
| 3 / 2 : | Sang Joo Kim, Synja P. Kim and seven
other ICAS Fellows were invited guests of the Officers
and Trustees of the Heritage Foundation at the Sixth B C Lee Lecture. Ambassador
Paul Wolfowitz was the keynote speaker. |
| 5 / 1 : | ICAS hosted
"ICAS [Spring] Symposium & ICAS
Liberty Award Dinner: Humanity, Economy, Science and Technology".
Six papers were presented. Ambassador Zhaoxing Li of the Embassy of People's
Republic of China in Washington was a keynote speaker and guest of honor at
the ICAS Luncheon. Hon Jerome J Shestack was the recipient
of ICAS Liberty Award and the Dinner speaker. |
| 5 / 18 : | Sang Joo Kim was an invited guest at
the evening honoring Lawrence H Summers, U. S. Treasury Secretary, at the Park
Hyatt Philadelphia At The Bellevue. |
| 6 / 4 : | ICAS
inaugurated ICAS Liberty Golf Classic at
Bensalem Country Club. Trophy of Ambassador Zhaoxing Li endowed. Il Hwan Kim
was the Grand Marshall, and Sung Hoon Kim, the inaugural champion.

In addition, we wish to gratefully acknowledge
ICAS Fellows, members, friends, collaborators,
donors, speakers and discussants whose generous contributions and supports made
our programmes possible. With your continued patronage, we are hopeful that
