Philadelphia Bar Association's October Quarterly Meeting and Luncheon
October 21, 2004 12:00 noon
Park Hyatt Philadelphia at the Bellevue Ballroom

Dear Friend:

We are pleased to share with you that Sang Joo Kim and Seon Mi Sim were, today, invited guests of Gabriel L I Bevilacqua, Esquire, Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association at the Bar Association's October Quarterly Meeting and Luncheon and a pre-luncheon reception in the Ballroom Balcony Foyer of the Park Hyatt.

The Hon Majorie O Rendell, US Circuit Court of Appeals Judge, and The Hon James R Melinson, Chief US Magistrate Judge of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, were presented with the Justice Sandra Day O'Connor Award and the Justice William J Brennan Award, respectively, for their outstanding achievements.

Judge Rendell was honoured not just for her superior legal ability and leadership but also for her work in furthering the advancement of women in both the profession and the community. As a member of the federal bench and as First Lady of Pennsylvania, Judge Rendell exemplifies the qualities of Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.
In his remarks, Governor Ed Rendell amusingly confided that his secret of success is "Yes, dear".

Chief Judge Melinson was saluted for his distinguished career and impressive accomplishments as he serves in the tradition of Justice Brennan.

In celebrating the occasion, Amy Gutmann, the new President of the University of Pennsylvania, keynoted the Luncheon with her impassioned message.

Also of note was Lisa Scottoline, best-selling author and Philadelphia lawyer, signed copies of her new book Killer Smile.

Chancellor Bevilacqua was recently named ICAS Fellow. www.icasinc.org/2004b/b040608a.html

Thank you.

Regards,
