The 14th Korean Overseas Compatriots Prize Winner 2006

We are pleased to share with you that The Hon Shinae Chun (Chun, Shinae) is "The 14th Korean Overseas Compatriots Prize Winner 2006". The Prize is sponsored by the Korean Broad Service (KBS), a leading Korea's Public Service Broadcaster.

Ms Chun serves as Director of Women's Bureau, United States Department of Labor and is among the most-sought-after motivational speakers.

"Director Chun is a daughter of Korea, and her life story epitomizes a quintessential American Dream. She came to the United States as a student, started and built a career of public servant in the State of Illinois while raising sa family, and rose to the highest ranking Korean-American in the United States government as a Presidential-Appintee-Senate confirmed. Each and every footprint of Ms Chun's brilliant activities and distinguished work over the past decades attest to her finest soul and spirit of motherland Korea. In addition, she is an outstanding champion of advancing justcause of humanity and well-being for all people in unison. Truly, Director Chun embodies unparalled acomplishment by finesse and beauty of empowerment."

She is a frequent visitor to ICAS and also graciously endowed the "Shinae Chun Award for Excellence" in 2005 as an integral part of the "ICAS Youth Excellence Fellowship Awards" for "those youngsters who demonstrate achievements with high distinction in community involvement, leadership roles, public affairs and volunteering".
