We are pleased to share with you that Tara O has been named ICAS Fellow, effective immediately.

Tara O is an Adjunct Fellow at the Pacific Forum Center for Security and International Studies (CSIS) and a member of the board of directors of International Council on Korean Studies. A U.S. Air Force veteran (Lieutenant Colonel), Tara worked on national security, alliance, and political- military issues at the Pentagon, the U.S. Forces Korea, and the U.S. European Command, among others. She also worked counterterrorism, counterproliferation, and satellite issues. Tara also taught strategy and joint military operations at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Her research areas include the Korean contingency and unification, U.S. alliance relationships in Asia, and human rights in North Korea. Prior to the military, Tara also worked in the public, private, and non-profit sectors, including the U.S. Agency for International Development in Nairobi, Kenya and the Asia Foundation in Bangkok, Thailand and Vientiane, Laos. She holds degrees from the University of Texas-Austin (Ph.D.), Princeton University (MPA), and University of California-Davis (BA).

Tara is the author of The Collapse of North Korea: Challenges, Planning and Geopolitics of Unification. (Palgrave Macmillan UK, 2016).
