We are pleased to share with you that Riccardo Shim will sing both the US and the Korean National Anthems in honour of Daniel Russel gracing the ICAS 2019 Annual Liberty Celebration Dinner.

Tenor Riccardo Yongsuek Shim studied at Kyungpook National University, graduating valedictorianin his class with a Bachelors degree in music. He went on to receive a Masters of Divinity degree from Hansei University, and completed further vocal studies at the National University of Vienna in Austria (Music hoch Schule Opernstudium) at the highest level of their graduate opera program.Riccardo began his professional operatic career as a tenor in his debut as Tebaldo in Bellini’s I Capuleti e I Montecchi, as Hoffmann and Sparanzani in Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffmann in Austria.

In the same year, he was selected by the prestigious Vox Artis Music management company to perform the lead role of Manrico in Il Trovatore at the National Summer Festival in Hungary that lasted a tour of the entire season. During his time as a member of the National Opera Theatre in Austria, he was engaged in a busy and successful international career. Riccardo appeared in lead roles for multiple seasons in the following operas to include Tosca as Cavaradossi and Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte as Tamino, La Bohème as Rodolfo, La Traviata as Alfredo and Bizet’s Carmen as Don Jose in Europe and USA.

He also has management experience with ZBF Agency in Munich, Germany and Concorde Opera Management in Vienna, Austria. Riccardo recently received the award for Excellence in Fine Arts from the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution in Washington, D.C.

He is the founder of SALT opera Ensemble and a member for AGMA (American Guild of Musical Artists).

Ricarrdo also was invited to sing at Castleton Festival by the world famous conductor, Lorin Maazel.

Riccardo performed at US Army Center For Army Analysis located in Fort Belvoir, VA for Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration in May 2017.
