David Kim

Clarinetist

David Kim is currently thirteen years old and he attends Harrington Middle School. David has been playing the clarinet since the age of nine. He was chosen as a winner of the Philadelphia Orchestra's Albert M Greenfield Competition in 2009. David performed on October 31, 2009 with the Philadelphia Orchestra. He also won the Warminster Symphony Orchestra Young Artist's Competition and performed with them in October 2009. David was the representative of New Jersey in the MTNA Competition and won the Eastern Division which was out of the 13 states on the East Coast. In March of 2009, he won third place in the National MTNA competition which was held in Atlanta, Georgia. David has won various competitions such as the winner of the Ambler Symphony Orchestra Menge's Scholarship Award. He is the concertmaster for the band in his school. David auditioned for the Olympic Junior's Conference Band of South Jersey and was given the title of concertmaster every year. He has performed in many recitals including the Philadelphia Fundraiser Recital on December 1st, 2008.

He also plays piano and tennis and enjoys reading in his spare time.
