Kyu Boem Lee
Pastor, Germantown Hope Community Church, Philadelphia


Rev Kyu Boem Lee was born in Seoul, South Korea, 1971. At the age of 10, his family moved to Nairobi, Kenya, to live a Christian missionary life, and he completed his secondary education there. At the age of 18, Kyu Boem came to USA in order to start college education. He graduated from Wheaton College, Illinois, in 1993, with a B A in Biblical and Theological Studies, and Kyu Boem graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary, Pennsylvania, in 1997, with a Master of Divinity. He is currently enrolled as a Doctor of Ministry candidate at Westminster. Kyu Boem served at an African-American church in North Central Philadelphia, Calvary Baptist Church, from 1995 until 2002. He is now serving as the pastor of Germantown Hope Community Church, a multiethnic, community-oriented church-plant in Germantown, a neighborhood in Philadelphia, where he also currently resides. He has been married since September 2001 to the former Christe Warakomski.
