Scott Nakamura

Scott Nakamura is an incumbent President of JACL Philadelphia (Japanese American Citizens League, nation's oldest and largest Asian American civil rights organization.).

Born and raised in Hawaii and spent three years at University of Oregon before entering Dental School at University of Pennsylvania. Professionally, he continued with post-doctorate training at University of Pennsylvania in Periodontics and Periodontal-Prosthesis. Scott was Clinical Assistant Professor and Clinical Group Leader at University of Pennsylvania, currently working in private practice and teaching part-time at Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University as Clinical Assistant Professor. He is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Periodontics, and the American Dental Education Association and he published articles in Hawaii Medical Journal, Western Journal of Medicine, Penn Dental Journal, and Journal of Proshodontics. Scott is past president of ICON Philadelphia (an Asian American professional network subsidiary of National Association of Asian American Professionals), board member of Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia, advisory member of Japanese Association of Greater Philadelphia, member representative of Philadelphia Japan 7 Network, former vice-president of JACL Philadelphia.
