Alice Jiyeh Shin



Alice - a Virginia native - is a senior at Battlefield High School with interests in public policy and international affairs. She has been actively involved with ICAS for the last 3 years, gaining exposure to civic leadership, scholarly engagement, and has further accumulated valuable experiences in her desired studies through the ICAS Youth Excellence Program.

On August 9th, 2025, Alice presented her work product "Building Character, Leadership, and Life Skills" at the 2025 ICAS Summer Symposium: The Korean Diaspora (https://www.icasinc.org/2025/2025b/b250728a.html) and earned a recognition of Winner Qualifier (WQ) with Honorable Mention. On January 8th, 2026, Alice received congratulatory remarks from United States Senator Mark Warner in which he recognized her for her efforts.

The ICAS Youth Excellence Program has produced, to date, two AEI Interns, one Eagle Scout, eight Heritage Foundation Interns, one Hudson Institute Intern, one Rhodes Scholar, two Samsung Electronics Corporation Interns, one US Congressional Arts Awardee, two U.S. Congressional Interns, and six White House interns, five law students, five medical students, two assistant professors and one professor among other aspiring students.
